Curious? Confused?

Here are some answers to the most commonly asked questions….

Shamanism is an ancient healing tradition and a way of life, connecting us with nature and all of creation. The word ‘shaman’ (pronounced SHAH-mahn) originates from the Tungus tribe in Siberia and refers to a person who’s able to interact with both the normal world and the world of spirits, usually as a sort of intermediary between the two.

Even though Shamanism is a healing modality that dates back at least 50,000 years, it is not a term that is commonly encountered in our society – yet!  When people learn that I am a Shamanic Practitioner they are often full of questions about what it is that I do.

So, I thought that it would be helpful if I created a page on my website that answered some of the most commonly asked questions.  I hope that you find this page informative, interesting and enjoyable!  I will keep adding to this page over time, but if you have a question that has not been addressed here, please get in touch and I will make another video to answer it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website and stop by this page. I do hope you enjoy it.

What you can expect from a Shamanic session…

People seek shamanic treatments for any of a number of reasons, including relief from grief, stress, depression and physical ailments. Some are simply curious about shamanism and appreciate the energy boost it provides.

My work typically begins with an email from a client in which they identify the issues they are seeking to address with shamanic assistance. With that client’s permission, I journey and connect with my helping spirits for advice and direction on that person’s priorities and to make sure the time is right for them to receive treatment. I then share with the client the results of that consultation to ensure the client understands and is comfortable with the proposed treatment.

If the client decides to proceed, they books an appointment for a session, either in person in at my office or a distance healing session. Shamanic treatments aren’t intended to take the place of a medical doctor’s care and don’t interfere with any medical treatments a client may be following under a physician’s care. I don’t diagnose or treat injuries or illness and don’t prescribe any medications.

Many illnesses or conditions have a spiritual component and the spirits may help alleviate a client’s pain and suffering. Typically, a shamanic session begins with the practitioner calling in the spirits using a rattle while the client relaxes. I ask my healing spirits what healing this person needs right now and from that point on, I do what they tell me. I’m not doing the healing; I’m the connection.

From there, I will utilize the shamanic healing practices in accordance with the instructions given by the the healing spirits during that session. Every shamanic practitioner develops their own treatment style based on their own experiences.
